I am not sure what specifically you are proposing, so it is difficult to comment on how it would work. Our reflectance sensors should be responsive enough to work at high speeds, so more significant than changing sensors is optimizing your robot geometry and control algorithm. Sure! This is a challenging task, but it should be doable with a variety of robotics platforms. Note that on the hardware side, wheel encoders are almost essential, and on the programming side, you'll need to do a lot of advanced array manipulation.

Hi Todd. We have some example code for solving a maze without loops here: www.pololu.com/docs/0J21/8 Sections 8.d and 8.e discuss how to record, store, and simplify the robot's path through the maze. Looped mazes like the one in the video above are more difficult to work with, and unfortunately, we don't have any documentation or example code for them. However, one of our engineers did share his own code for solving a looped maze with a 3pi robot in this forum post: forum.pololu.com/t/3pi-looped-maze-solver/3269/3

The majority of the robots used our micro metal gearmotors, which vary in gear ratios and motor types. You can find a complete table listing all the options on our Micro Metal Gearmotors' category page: www.pololu.com/category/60/micro-metal-gearmotors. You can also find more information about some of the robots featured in the video in the blog post we link to in this video's description section.

None of the line following code for the robots in the competition that used Arduinos is available. However, to get started on your own program you might consider reviewing the line following example for our Zumo 32U4 Robot, which has the same microcontroller as the Arduino Leonardo. The example line following sketch is called LineFollower.ino, and it is a part of the Zumo 32U4 Arduino library: github.com/pololu/zumo-32u4-arduino-library If you have specific questions about that code, please post to our forum: forum.pololu.com/

@@magarajanamagarajanarunach6661 These line followers all use different motors, though most of them are probably using some version of our Micro Metal Gearmotors. For a specific example, Ben's robot, Mostly Red Racer, uses the medium power 30:1 gearmotos with 70mm wheels and is powered at 9V. (The 9V is through a regulator, not from a 9V battery, which wouldn't be a good choice for a robot because of its small current capacity).
